How has being a Sociology graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"Professionally, my Sociology degree has been extremely helped particularly in the field of education. Sociology has showed me how to craft positive change in education using an an equity based lens to inform my work. The courses I took made me both a strong researcher, and an informed human. Through learning about research surrounding systemic structures, I now have a strong baseline into understanding why our social world functions as it does. Personally, this degree shaped who I was an undergraduate student. I felt like I was valued in this department, and the work did there allowed me to explore my identity."
