2006 Major: Sociology and Russian
"Sociology was useful in learning certain thought processes and analytical methodologies. When I went to law school the capability to train myself how to think was very important. It has also given me an understanding as to why certain laws are in existence and why people act certain ways."
"I enjoyed my time at Duke and learning sociology, but that being said, Sociology, like a number of other liberal arts majors, has limits on its use. I knew I wanted to be a lawyer, and this major helped, but you need to look at what your long terms goals with this degree are, and whether a sociology major is right for you. If it is, that is great! But when you are looking for jobs after college, what you studied is often very important."
