Overview

Graduate student specializing in demography, medical sociology and quantitative methods. I study incarceration, crime and health from a life course perspective. My research looks at the aging of the justice-involved population and at changes in the composition of jail populations over time as the result of various political and social factors. I am also involved in work looking at the mutual influence of the death penalty and public opinion, as well as more applied work evaluating various justice-reform efforts in North Carolina, including the Crisis Intervention Team Model and Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD).
