Overview

Graduate student specializing in demography, medical sociology and quantitative methods. I study the effect of contact with the criminal justice system on health over the life course. My research looks at the aging of the justice-involved population and at changes in the composition of jail populations over time as the result of various political and social factors. I am also involved in more applied work evaluating various justice-reform efforts in North Carolina, including the Crisis Intervention Team Model (CIT) and Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD).
