On Tuesday March 31, Zimife Umeh defended her dissertation entitled: “Gender, Institutions, and Punishment: Examining the Experiences of Formerly Incarcerated Women.” Her committee consisted of: Martin Ruef, Co-Chair, Angel Harris, Co-Chair, Tyson Brown, and Jessi Streib. She has also accepted a Presidential Diversity Fellowship at Brown University.
