On Monday, March 25, 2019 Bethany Young successfully defended her dissertation entitled: “Brown Sugar and Spice: Exploring Black Girlhood at Elite, White Schools”. Her committee consisted of; Eduardo Bonilla-Silva(Co-Chair), Lynn Smith-Lovin(Co-Chair), Sarah Gaither, Tyson Brown, and Jessi Streib.
